Welcome Katie Vesbach, Director, Digital Media
Our new Director, Digital Media, Katie Vesbach is starting tomorrow so I thought it’s a perfect time to share her bio and pic. Please welcome Katie when you see her.
From Katie:
Hi everyone!
I am Katie Vesbach (vess-bock). I’m so excited to join the GreenRubino/Cruxx team! Work-wise, I’ve spent most of my career at Chair 10 Marketing, a digital agency based in Magnolia right over by Fishermen’s Terminal. Over the years I’ve had clients in all kinds of industries– legal, healthcare, finance, saas, senior living, etc. We also had about 10 universities and community colleges as clients so I got to work quite a bit in the edu space. The University of Washington Continuum College and UW Marketing and Communications (undergrad) are some of our largest edu clients. I also worked on multi-location businesses and franchise networks so I have a lot of experience optimizing paid performance at the local level and also using higher-level insights to guide strategy.
I was fortunate to work with a great team and together we developed processes and grew revenue on our most complex client accounts. I was on the leadership team since its inception and really got to shape the agency as we grew from being 8 people when I joined to 50+. Last year in May we were acquired by SmartBug Media which is a full service digital agency. I’ve learned a ton in this last year getting to work with departments we didn’t have at Chair 10 like PR, inbound, web design, e-commerce, and UX. I also learned a lot about HubSpot and got to sharpen my sales skills. However, SmartBug is fully remote and has over 300 people. It just feels too big for me and I’m so excited this role became available to join your team!
I’m in grad school right now studying strategic communications and it’s been a really great, useful program to get me more formal training in things like branding, integrated marketing communication, PR, research, advertising, internal communication, etc.
I live in Shoreline with my partner, Steve, and our two daughters June (5) and Greta (3). Life with two small children is a bit chaotic, but they do make us laugh. June let me know the other morning that I “kind of look like a troll” — so she keeps me humble.
I’m really into gardening and baseball so this is pretty much the best time of year for me. I’m also into Seattle history and I’m actually a descendant of the Picardo family who started the P-patch gardens around Seattle. Who knew he “P” stood for Picardo and not peas?! Not me for a long time!
I was a cast member of Csz Seattle for a little over 6 years which has its flagship show, ComedySportz in Fremont. I am a bit of a theater nerd and I also like to write fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and plays. When I’m done with school my plan is to repurpose that homework time and put it towards creative writing.
I look forward to meeting each of you, getting to know you more, and doing great work together! 🙂
