Testing New Office WiFi

If you have been in the office recently you may have noticed some devices scattered throughout the office with a note attached about testing new WiFi.  That is exactly what is happening.

These new WiFi access points support the newest version of wireless called WiFi 6 (they simplified the naming convention so you don’t have to remember the version of 802.11 you are running).  The new Macs are compatible as will the new PCs when they arrive.  All of our computers can do WiFi 5 so everyone can obtain faster speeds as our older system is WiFi 4.

I’ve setup the basic system and anyone that comes into the office is welcome to try it out.  For now, the network is only for GR employees so do not give it to Nectr or Guests.  While testing, I will open it up to any devices you have (phone, watches, iPads).  Later, I will isolate the network and drive guests, Nectr and non-laptops to a different WiFi so we can separate traffic.

The network you are looking for is called GoodNet and I will post the current password in the General channel on Teams.

Brandidextrous is still active for GR laptops and GreenRubino is still active for Guests, Nectr and other devices.
