**IT Info** Sleepless Conf Room changes/info
A few changes and reminders for Sleepless devices and using Teams on the shared device Sleepless PC. There has been an issue where Teams sometimes wants to default to the last login
- The Clickshare device on HDMI 2 is no longer working. I attempted a reset to no avail. I have removed it.
-
- PCs can cast to the TV by selecting the Screen Share input on the TV and selecting Cast from your WiFi settings. Sleepless and Bruce both support this feature. Jimi does not.
- Macs can cast to the TV using the Apple TV. There are Apple TVs in Sleepless, Jimi and Bruce
- Mouse lag when using Sleepless PC. I have added a powered USB hub on the table so the IR receiver for the mouse and keyboard are now in line of sight and not behind a glass pane.
-
- It holds the receiver for the mouse and keyboard combo
- It holds the receiver for the Power Point remote which is next to the Apple TV in a soft case
- If someone comes in with a presentation on USB or you need to transfer something via USB to the Sleepless PC, you can plug direct into the hub. There is an adapter next to the hub to go from older USB A to newer USB C
- Microsoft Teams logins via the web app on a shared device. Microsoft’s recommendation is to always use the web interface. Please DO NOT download the full desktop version of Teams
-
- Use the web interface. There is a shortcut on the desktop and on the bookmark bar in Chrome and in FireFox
- Chrome has been set to not remember data or autofill and delete after closing all windows. Right-clicking on the bookmark on the Chrome bookmark bar and choosing “Open in Incognito window” will ensure you do not save any data nor use any possible stored data
- Firefox allows you to always open in a Private window. Launch FireFox from the taskbar and there is a shortcut to Teams on the bookmark bar
- ALWAYS log out of Teams when you are done and ALWAYS close all browser sessions.
- If you want an additional security step when done with Teams (logged out and closed browser sessions), click on the desktop shortcut “Restart PC” This ensures you have closed everything.
Thanks,
Rudy
