**IT Info** 1Password is here!! Let’s get started
Here we go! One place to keep your Logins, Secure Notes, Credit Cards and Identities. You remember one password to get access to all your information. Only you know that password and the secret key in your emergency kit.

- We will NOT be using Single Sign-On
- Importing passwords – you can do this, but it can be hit or miss depending on the platform you are importing from. I imported from LastPass but had to go through setting up custom fields (not for everybody). Credit cards and Secure Notes did not come over well from LastPass, so I manually recreated them. Many suggest you just start going to the sites that have saved passwords and setting them up directly into 1Password. This is also a good time to change passwords and save them.
- If this is new, stick to the basics and get familiar with the app.
- Be sure to keep your Secret Key and Emergency Kit in a safe place. Only you have this information to access your accounts if you ever need to recover or reestablish your 1Password account.
- Create a strong password you can remember. This is the one password you will need to memorize. After that, all the work is done by 1Password to generate and keep your passwords and passkeys protected.
I highly recommend the below as a beginning approach. This is the enterprise version, so it is tied to your GR email address. If you already use 1Password through your personal email account, you can tie them together.
You will want to keep your GR work passwords under your Employee vault and your personal passwords in your Family account. You can share your Family account with 4 members. If you leave GR, you lose access to your GR password vault, but you will have 14 days to purchase your own account and retain your Family vault passwords.
Concentrate on creating your Employee and Family vaults for the passwords that you use. We will work towards the Shared Vaults later. Shared Vaults are passwords we use across the agency by various teams.
- Create you GR account as that is necessary as it is tied to our enterprise domain.
- Create your personal account if you want to do friends and family invite. This keeps your work passwords and personal life passwords separate and allows you to give 1Password to your family. You can access both accounts form the same place. It is easy to move password from one to another or duplicate if needed.
- You will want the browser extensions, desktop app and mobile device app. That give you access from multiple platforms and the desktop is more robust with more account control features.
