As mentioned in the Agency Meeting, we are scheduling some group volunteer opportunities.  There are a variety of options below to choose from.  We’ll be adding more options over time, so if none of these catch your interest right now, no problem!  And there is no expectation that you must participate….this is completely optional.  As a reminder, GR provides one day per year to volunteer for personal interests plus an additional group volunteer outing.

Sign up forms are posted outside of the Finance Dept.

There are maximums for each group so once the list is full, it’s full.

As we get closer, I will coordinate with the group to provide additional information, but feel free to ask any questions you have.

Refugee Art Initiative –  9/9   1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Group size: minimum 5, maximum 10

Location: Lake City

What you can expect: RAI upcycles landfill-bound textiles into useable products.  They continually receive donations like burlap, craft fabrics, firehose, upholstery samples and vinyl billboards.  Volunteers will help sort these items into their new building, helping find a way to settle into their totally different, temp space, juggling production, admin, finished inventory, raw textiles and all manner of projects in progress.

What you can expect: Working with the Community Meals kitchen to support in a variety of food preparation tasks.

 

Pasado’s Safe Haven – 10/23  10:00am – 2:30pm (Plus 1 hour of travel on both ends)
